EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Stewart Steeves, Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Stewart Steeves oversees the $4 billion redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B. Steeves also served as Bid Director, overseeing the LGP team through the successful bid process on the redevelopment project. Steeves previously served as the CFO of Vantage Airport Group and in two senior positions at two Vantage airports – president and CEO of Nassau Airport Development Company in The Bahamas, and vice president of finance and CFO at Hamilton International Airport in Ontario, Canada.
James Haviaris, Chief Technical Officer
James Haviaris joined the LaGuardia Gateway Partners team in February 2017. Haviaris is responsible for overseeing the engineering operations and maintenance of all airport facilities managed by LaGuardia Gateway Partners. Jamie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers University and has received designation as Real Property Administrator from the Building Owners and Managers Institute in NYC. Previously Haviaris served as President, Northeast at ISS Facility Services and as SVP of Operations and Management for The Rockefeller Group Development Corporation.
Kenneth Schuhmacher, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
As the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Kenneth Schuhmacher is responsible for managing all legal matters, compliance and corporate governance of LaGuardia Gateway Partners. Mr. Schuhmacher has extensive legal and commercial experience in global transactional work through previous experience as a partner at two leading international law firms as well as through his role as Commercial Director and General Counsel for Skanska Infrastructure Development North America. He holds a B.A. in History from Dartmouth College, a J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and an L.L.M. from Queens College of Cambridge University in England.
Frank Scremin, Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Scremin is responsible for managing the operations of Terminal B and ensuring the successful transition to the new Terminal B facilities. He oversees planning, process improvements and day-to-day operations, LGP’s Information Technology, and ORAT – operational readiness and transition. Before LaGuardia Gateway Partners, Scremin served on the US team for Vantage Airport Group during the LaGuardia bid pursuit, as well as President and CEO of TradePort International Corporation. TradePort International Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vantage and manages Hamilton International Airport in Ontario, Canada.
Mike Sibilia, Chief Financial Officer
As the Chief Financial Officer, Mike Sibilia is responsible for managing the financial operations and stakeholder obligations around the $4 billion redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B. Sibilia is a skilled airport executive with more than 20 years of airport finance experience and has been with LaGuardia Gateway Partners since July, 2016. Before joining LaGuardia Gateway Partners, Sibilia served as the CFO of JFK International Airport, LLC, the developer and operator of Terminal 4, JFK Airport, Jamaica, New York.
Derek Thielmann, Project Director, Design & Construction
Derek Thielmann was named Project Director of Design & Construction in May, 2016. Thielmann manages the design build and is the day-to-day construction liaison between the operational and construction partners of the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B. He supervises the installation coordination of construction materials and the completion of Terminal B without infringing on the flow of passengers for the existing terminal. Thielmann comes to LaGuardia Gateway Partners from Vantage Airport Group and from Vancouver Airport Authority as Director of Engineering.
Steve Thody, Project Director, Strategic Initiatives
As Project Director, Strategic Initiatives, Steve Thody oversees initiatives, products and partnerships which optimize terminal operational and revenue opportunities. Mr. Thody brings over 18 years experience in financial, operational and general management with British Airways, most recently serving as the General Manager for JFK Terminal 7. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
