Sustainability
The new Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport features a fully sustainable design – one that will lead the way as it relates to large-scale infrastructure projects. The more than 1.3 million square feet of the new terminal is expected to achieve LEED Silver certification for sustainable design, a designation of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) by the U.S. Green Building Council as well as Envision certification.
LaGuardia Gateway Partners takes a collective approach to sustainability from design through to construction and operation and has formed a Sustainability Squad to plan and execute sustainability initiatives. Learn more about all of the sustainable features in the new Terminal B below.
The Terminal B redevelopment project has also been awarded the first-ever platinum award for its industry-leading approach to sustainability and resilience. We are proud that our construction partner Skanska-Walsh has received the highest recognition from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure under their new Envision V3 Framework. Learn More.
