LaGuardia Gateway Partners began construction on the new 1.3 million square foot Terminal B in June 2016. With a construction value of $4 billion, the Terminal B project is one of the largest public-private partnerships in American history and the largest in US aviation.
The project includes the Arrivals & Departures Hall, connected by 2 skybridges to 2 island concourses, a parking garage, and related roadway and infrastructure. An incredibly complex project, the new Terminal B was built next to, behind and even over top the original terminal, which remained operational during the majority of the construction.
Opening in phases, the Terminal B project is now over 90% complete and is expected to wrap up later in 2022, on time and on budget. Remaining work includes the opening of the taxiway under our western skybridge, the opening of new gates and site clean-up.
